The Painted Choir: The layers of blues, yellows, and whites dancing together with hints of ochre and browns remind me of rows of singers.

Echoes of the Painted Choir

The layers of blues, yellows, and whites dancing together with hints of ochre and browns remind me of rows of singers. I piled on thick, textured strokes to create movement, mixing vertical and horizontal shapes that play off each other like a well-rehearsed concert. Inspired by the performance of the Kanata Choir.

I love to hear a choir. I love the humanity, to see the faces of real people devoting themselves to a piece of music. I like the teamwork. It makes me feel optimistic about the human race when I see them cooperating like that.
